Safe. Caring. Well led.
In the heart of Daventry, surrounded by mature trees and gardens, with easy access to shops and parks, Brownlands is a comprehensively equipped private nursing home which is registered for elderly care. The highest standards of care are provided in surroundings that are as comfortable and relaxed as your own home, with a range of facilities for long term, convalescent and respite, this makes Brownlands the ideal choice for those looking for quality care. The ethos of Brownlands is to help our service users lead happy and dignified lives and to become and remain as self-reliant and independent as possible within a safe and comfortable environment.
Brownlands was originally built as a Victorian private house but was converted and extended into a Nursing Home in March 1987, so you will certainly feel at home whether in your bedroom or in one of our communal areas where you can watch the many birds, squirrels and even a badger who like to visit the garden. Our kitchen staff are skilled at tempting even the most jaded palates with a selection of thoughtfully prepared dishes from our 4-week menu and special dietary requirements are no problem and cheerfully catered for.
From April 2020 Vicki Pryce, a qualified first level nurse, part 1 of the register, was appointed the Home Manager. Vicki has worked at Brownlands since 2018 starting as Clinical Lead and has many years of experience in both hospital and care home settings. As Home Manager she aims to provide care that is compassionate and of a high quality and designed to meet each service users unique needs and preferences. Brownlands provides a range of activities and facilities for people to join together, however the home respects the rights of individuals to have their ‘own space’ particularly when family and friends are visiting, and we have some beautifully decorated and landscaped spaces to allow for this.
Coronavirus - what are we doing?
The health, safety, and well being of our residents and staff is always our top priority, we are proud to announce that so far our residents are all COVID free. We have made a few changes to allow us to upkeep this:
We are regularly testing Staff and Residents
We have abundant supplies of Personal Protective Equipment
We have robust infection control measures in place
We have introduced an enhanced cleaning regime
We have got a Safe Admissions Policy
In June we introduced socially distanced visiting to help safeguard our residents and staff however due to further changes in Government guidance in November we have suspended visiting, we have been working hard to ensure we are aligned to and understand what that means for ensuring we keep our residents, staff and you, their loved ones, as safe as possible and we will be reviewing weekly as to when visiting can once again commence
